Program for Excellence
Over the past few decades, conventional hydrocarbon reserves have been severely depleted due to exponential population growth and the resultant increased demand for energy. Since further petroleum exploration and production will often take place under the harshest of conditions, petroleum engineers of the future require a new level of multidisciplinary skills.
PEPE, Petroleum Engineering Program for Excellence is a cooperative effort between top oil companies and the School of Petroleum Engineering at the Montanuniversität Leoben. The goal of PEPE is to enhance students’ education through industry leading technology to best prepare them for the future. With the use of advanced mainstream techniques and constantly updated hardware, software, research and data, PEPE will set the standard for the study of natural resources, further advancing the school’s status among the world’s top petroleum programs.
