PraxisScheck (Practice Check)
A Leoben success story continues:
The “PraxisScheck” was introduced as a reaction to the levying of student fees starting in 2001 and is intended to improve the financial situation of the students.
Every student in Leoben must complete six months of practical work in his/her industry before finishing his/her studies. Well known businesses, industries and private persons have made scholarships available to students (dependent upon their practical work) to the amount of one semester‘s fees.
The “PraxisScheck” is tied to the successful completion of exams and can be applied to his/her following semester. Since inception more than 1000 “PraxisSchecks” have been awarded students from all fields of study.
For the Winter semester 2007/08, the following students received a practice check from OMV:
Theresa Baumgartner
Timur Cimitoglu
Günther Glatz
Alexander Heger
Karin Hofstätter
Peter Janiczek
Andreas Poldlehner
Michael Schietz
Piotr Wilczek
