Organization and Execution of PEPE:

Meetings, i.e., Steering Committee-Meetings between the Montanuniversitaet and the industry, will be held 3 times a year  In preparation, the individual project teams will meet and discuss technical aspects and as well as progress with regard to their applicable project.

  • Organization of a Petroleum Geology Lab (with  Mass Spectrometer, Gas-Chromatograph, Element Analyzer, Büchi-Evaporator, Hetero-MPLC, 3D-Microscope, Research Microscope, Gasperm-Device, etc.) with a total value of around 580.000 Euro and to be used for research and teaching
  • Addition/appointment of a department head/chair(Dept. of Petroleum Geology)
  • Organization of Geo-Computing Lab mit with 10 workstations
  • General renovation of the Rock-Eval. Lab
  • Organization of a measuring/testing facility for the Petrophysics Lab
  • Acquisition and implementation of Theta Software for use in teaching
  • Aquisition and maintenance of relevant Reservoir Engineering-Software, e.g., Petroleum Experts, Kappa Engineering, Crystal Ball, Petrel, PVTi, and purchase of a server
  • Acquisition and implementation of a PE Wiki
  • Realization of a virtual PVT-Lab for deployment in Internet
  • Setup of a Project Management and Controlling Infrastructure
  • Development of marketing plan and implementation of a marketing strategy with a focus of online marketing (PEPE-Website)
  • Construction of an Alumni-Databank
  • Allocation of 20 “Practice Checks“ and 3 Scholarships for an overseas semester at Colorado School of Mines (CSM)
  • Execution of school projects and continuing education
  • Participation of students on two science oriented/academic days
  • Creation/development of the label „pe“ as well as printproductions and fair participation.
  • Creation of a web concept and the PEPE-Website www.petroleumengineer.at
  • Implimentation of a visitor guiding system
  • Creation of a reservoir model (Trattnach)

In addition to our top sponsors OMV and RAG: EU(EFRE) and Land Steiermark pledge 286.000 Euro in line with the building of a Petroleum Geology Lab.

Generous contributions of relevant software will be donated by Schlumberger (approx. 8 mil. $) and Halliburton (approx 6 mil. $)
