BSc Program – Highlights
210 ECTS Program with 30 ECTS for internship, which can be studied in 6 semesters
Change of 1st year to distribute study load more evenly:
- CuP in 3rd semester (previously 1st )
- Mineralogie und Petrologie in 1st Semester (previously 3rd )
- Allgemeine Geologie in 2nd Semester (previously 3rd
- Allgemeine Geologie Übung in 3rd Semester (previously 4th )
BSc Program – Petroleum Engineering (6 Semesters)
During the first part of the studies students are taught the engineering fundamentals in depth. The second part provides skills in the engineering basics of the respective field of studies.

Mathematics, Chemistry, Physics, Mechanical engineering, Computer Application and Programming, Geosciences, Business Administration and Economics, with a special emphasis on Mechanical Engineering, Geophysics, Fluid Flow, Flow Through Porous Media, Probe Tests, Technical Basics of Drilling and Petroleum/Gas Production, Drilling, Production and Reservoir Engineering - additionally, Petroleum Technology, Petroleum Economics and Petroleum Geology
Required work experience:
Internships in the petroleum industry with a minimum of 80 workdays are required during the semester and summer holidays (20 shifts in drilling, 20 shifts in production and 40 shifts elective).
